The Fig Tree Restaurant was founded in 2011 we are a family business and employ 10 staff we have been very successful in building up the business from scratch in a downturn and unfortunately our business is closed again for Covid 19 but we are busy producing our House Dressings,
which we have been developing for the past two years with St. Angela’s College in Sligo.
We are selling in Supervalu, as part of the Food Academy Programme and we are currently in all the Kilkenny stores and in Waterford and some stores in Dublin. This all came about as a result of our customers asking if they could buy the dressing that they had on their food in the restaurant and thanks to continued local support the dressings are selling well.
We have two dressings our Original House Dressing which won a bronze award in the Blass na h`Eirinn 2020 this dressing is Gluten free and suitable for vegans and our Honey & Cayenne Dressing which won a silver award in the Blass na h`Eirinn 2020, this product is Gluten free and vegetarian also.
The dressings have a variety of uses they can be used and a dip, as marinade, used as a spread instead of butter when making a sandwich, you can simply toss into hot pasta and use as a sauce, use instead of eggs when breading food if allergic to eggs. We hope to being selling hampers for Christmas even if we are still closed. Details and pictures of hampers will be on the Fig Tree Facebook page in the coming weeks.
