Hello Friday!! The weather is looking good and it’s the weekend, an excellent combination! As it’s Friday we are looking for somewhere we can treat ourselves to this weekend and today we’re heading off to the lovely Kells, Co. Kilkenny to see what the King’s Mill Restaurant are cooking!
What’s the story behind the King’s Mill Restaurant?
Our Italian restaurant is based in The Mullins Mill, a magnificent building constructed in 1782. It is located on a peaceful riverbank, close to a stone bridge, and just on the way to the famous Kells Priory. It is a beautiful spot, which gives us a chance to create a meeting place for the locals and tourists. We preserved the character of the mill by not altering the exterior and preserving the century-old milling machinery inside. Rustic interior helps to create a welcoming, “trattoria” atmosphere, so we are sure that “Kings Mill” has the potential to be the meeting place in the future, offering fine dining but also able to host some local events.
Are you open for take-aways at the moment?
At that moment we are open only for take-away’s serving delicious range of homemade paninis, freshly baked pastries and cakes . We are also very proud to serve hand stretched yeasted pizzas, especially Our unique dehydrated Black Olives black sour dough pizza, and a various range of pastas. We are the only ones in the whole County who serves Miscela D’oro Premium Italian Coffee .
In our offer you can also find our “home made” jars which contain either black olives tapenade ,wild garlic pesto or carmelised red onions.
