New(ish) kids on the block are KD Food Co. are all about the local experience in each box, dedicated to sourcing quality fresh local and Irish produce with gourmet cheese and charcuterie grazing boxes. YUM!

So, we wanted to find out more about KD Food Co, and to do this we got the lovely Andrea who is the proud owner to answer a few questions for us!

Andrea, what do KD Food Co do?

At KD Food Co. We supply delicious cheese and charcuterie grazing boxes to Kilkenny city and surrounding areas. Our grazing boxes are filled with the best of local and Irish produce.

Tell us something we may not know about your business! 

KD was born last September, as a result of the pandemic shortly after we left Dublin to move back to Kilkenny. We are both used to working in busy restaurants, at festivals and events throughout the year. We decided to combine our experience to start this little venture and we’re so grateful of the support over the last few months.

Funny/quirky fact: The official word for someone who loves cheese is a turophile . . . it never really caught on. Cheese lover has a much nicer ring to it!

What’s cooking this weekend?

Another batch of fig and apple chutney. The perfect accompaniment for our cured meat and cheese boxes.

We’re prepping for Mother’s Day next weekend.

Are there any top tips on best ways to sample some of your food at home?

Top tips: Cashel blue on crackers with raw honey from Mileeven, topped with walnut. (OH MAN, sounds divine!!)

What are your top tips for a good Friday night in, just while we can’t go out!

A KD cheese and charcuterie grazing platter, a bottle of Le Caveau’s finest (we love Rioja Crianza) and The Late Late show. It doesn’t get much better than that these days!

We might be slightly biased!!!!
